Use Next.js when: SEO matters for any part of the site (it always does for marketplaces).
Backend
Node.js (Express or Fastify) works well for most marketplace MVPs:

- Easy to hire for later
When to add Python/FastAPI: If you need AI-powered features - smart matching, recommendation engines, content analysis, automated categorization. The right approach is to add a Python microservice alongside Node.js, not to rewrite everything.
